A big Thank You! the Nelson business community for participating in a collaborative donation effort for our local food banks, who are in need this holiday season!
The staff at Shambhala wanted to come up with a way to donate to the food bank while involving other local businesses. We joined forces with businesses on Baker Street who have agreed to sell our 100% biodegradable Shambhala water bottles. 50% of the proceeds from water bottle sales from each participating business will go to the food banks.
Donations from this effort will be going to: Salvation Army, Our Daily Bread, Salmo Community Resource Society, Nelson Food Cupboard.
Big Cranium (Tickets for Shambhala 2012 and Shambhala Merch available here, too!)
Fairies Pyjamas (also a member of our Artisan Market at Shambhala!)
Again, we’d also like to thank everyone who participated in our multi-city food drive on Dec 3rd, when we released tickets at retail locations. Here are the results:
Nelson: Nelson Food Cupboard, 100 lbs
Salmo: Food Bank, 50 lbs
Calgary: Interfaith Food Bank, 250 lbs
Edmonton: Food Bank, 150 lbs
Vancouver: The Greater Van Food Bank, 250 lbs
So everyone, happy holidays. Please contribute to your local food banks where you can, and if you’re in Nelson keep hydrated while you shop!! Half of your Shambhala water purchase will go to Nelson & Area Food Banks.
One more reminder; Drive safe this Holiday season, Shambhalovlies. If you’re out partying, make sure you take a cab home, or have a designated driver.
If you’re a designated driver in Nelson ask for your free bottled (Shambhala) water at Hume Hotel! Get home safe, everyone!
