Shambhala 2013… Tickets on Sale Nov 1

Blog by Sara Victor, Ticket & Vendor Administrator

Can you guys even believe that tickets for Shambhala 2013 are about to go on sale?

The memories from this past August are still tangible to me! I keep looking at photos and videos reliving the epic moments. And it’s October. And we’re about to sell tickets for next August’s event. This is crazy!

Even still, it is absolutely thrilling to be talking tickets. Truly I look forward to it all year!! Watching the orders roll in, wondering how long it will be until we sell out…  Ticket sales for the last few years keep getting more and more exciting!! I am completely honoured to be helping ya’ll again for the third year in a row! It was all I could think about on Saturday night at Pretty Lights @ Pagoda! So here it is, the ticket information for Shambhala 2013…

DATE, TIME, LOCATION:

Tickets for next August’s event go on sale November 1st at 6 pm PST at www.shambhalamusicfestival.com.

HOW TO ORDER:

All ticket sales will take place online through our website. You will need a PayPal account to place your purchase.

If you don’t already have a Paypal Account:

Set up a PayPal account up now. You don’t need a credit card to do this, just a bank account – but it can take up to ten days to verify account info so get on it as soon as you can.

If you already have Paypal:

Double check that your email and physical addresses are correct as well. I get hundreds of emails to fix physical addresses – so pretty please check it meow! Not a bad idea to refresh yourself on where to look up information for your purchases either.

Can I use the Paypal Guest Account feature to order?

No, that feature is not available through our checkout.

I don’t want to get a Paypal account. How can I order?

Find a friend who does have a Paypal account, and give them the money to order your ticket!

Why PayPal?

PayPal houses your financial info and keeps it from any retailer. This means that we will never see your info, keeping you protected. Also, since you need to log in to place an order, orders can never be placed from stolen cards or by someone who is unauthorized to do so. PayPal also keeps track of the orders you place, and the tracking information once we input it. If you would like to learn more about what kinds of services it offers, check out their website.

LIMIT PER ORDER:

Purchases are limited to THREE tickets per purchase. This is to allow for everyone who wants a ticket to get one.

If you need to purchase a bunch of tickets for say, your wedding, theme camp, etc, email me (sales@smf) and let me know.

***All suspicious orders (incl multiple orders) will be investigated by Ticket Administration. If you abuse the 3-ticket-per-person rule, you run the risk of all your orders being refunded. ***

PRICING:

Tickets will be sold in two tiers this year:

  • Early Bird @ $275 +s/h & tax
  • Regular $310 +s/h & tax

All purchases are subject to the same Shipping/Handling and 12% HST (BC tax rate).

WHAT ABOUT THE LOWEST TIER?

The lowest tier was originally intended to serve the “lower income” sect of the Shambhala population. Over the years, as first-day sales have increased, they have no longer been serving that purpose, and have simply been going to the people who can click the fastest. In light of this, we have retired the Extra Early Bird Tier, and will be introducing a new program.

A limited amount of lower priced tickets will be available through our “Shambhalove Ticket Program”, which we will announce details for in late November (similar to the Burning Man Scholarship program, there will be an application).

SHIPPING:

Same as last year – only orders placed WITHIN CANADA will be shipped.

All international (incl US) orders will be held at Will Call.

When will I get my ticket?

This year we will not be shipping tickets out until January, as we anticipate a great deal of admin work to follow up with sales. Again all tickets will be shipped through Canada Post registered mail service requiring a signature to be received. The shipping process is the exact same as last year, and all info about it is also available on our Ticket FAQ. We appreciate your patience as we manage your orders!

Can I have my ticket held at Will Call if I live in Canada?

YES! If you’re afraid of your ticket being lost or stolen, if you move frequently, or will be out of the country and won’t be able to sign for your ticket, email me and I will hold it for you. There is no additional fee (if your ticket has not yet been sent out), plus then you’ll get to talk to an awesome (and cute) receptionist at the front gate!

All the info you need to know is up on our website on the 2013 Tickets page. Most questions (including PayPal FAQ) are answered in the Ticket FAQ on the website. You can also email me, Sara, @ sales@shambhalamusicfestival.com.

So remember – November 1st at 6 pm PST – be ready!!
